This post wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t start with those smiley’s !

G for Green Green Goa –

Especially in the monsoons, after having loathed and evaded Goa visit so many times, finally a free trip last year had me visiting Goa. That too largely inspired by a Monsoon edition of Outlook Traveller which featured Goa and the fact that appealed to me the most was that the crowds would be considerably less.

We loved our visit so much we have decided to do Goa again, but, in the monsoons and no other season, for the beauty of the place and the greenery of the place has to be seen to be believed !

Early morning pics from the train to Goa... the Konkan railway route is breathtaking and you must do Goa by train !!!

The beach was not our most seeked area... I am a sucker for greenery and driving through the empty streets of sleepy south Goa in the interiors was bliss... infact there were no people out for us to even ask for directions... everyone was busy in their afternoon siesta !

Watching the ocean come kiss your feet and go back is a wonderfully rejuvenating time pass... the clouds in the monsoon also couple up as a wonderful kaleidoscope !

  2. Aaah, fun times for you and the family..

The backwaters and the beaches are equally inviting, depending on what you want to do,., If the backwaters are any level of clean, you can have a nice dive in it after a pleasant read (or before) and laze around in a hammock.

    you can do a handstand o.O !!!

    And wait, no daaru?

  3. Oh Goa does that you. πŸ™‚ But your post iterates the fact that I have been dying to go to Goa in a train. Oh how much I love trains ❀ And rains and Goa are a superb combination, that breeze, that sun and shade, that sound of the ocean… *Sigh*

  4. Dhiren, you have made me cry *sniff sniff* with this post of yours. To know the reason just go to Shail’s Nest and read the latest post.

  5. You just brought out the heart and soul of Goa through these pictures . I had lived the best part of my life there and you just told the story of my fav land . The backwaters with the reflections of the many palms brings a lump to my throat ! πŸ™‚

  6. Your post has made me homesick for Goa. Just a few minutes ago, Corinne’s post did it too. Now I need every ounce of self control to resist the urge to chuck it all away and head to Goa. Nice pictures. Goa always looks clean and washed. πŸ™‚
